Feet First SOLO workshop in South Taranaki
Teachers, Principals and senior staff worked with Pam Hook to unpack how SOLO could support their school curriculum and plan safe active travel for their community using the BIG EVENT in 2011 and Feet First curriculum documents at any time.
We had a fantastic day sharing our experiences using the new resources with other South Taranaki Schools and are looking forward to using the new "Big Event" resource next year.
This Walk and be Safe resource has had many benefits for the children at Hawera Primary. We are now using parent run walking school busses 5 days a week and the children are visible in Hawera with vests donated by "Tasman Workwear and Safety" and printed with our logo by "One Stop" printing shop.
Solo Taxonomy is being used across the curriculum and children and teachers are learning about and developing this together.
