The version for years 1-8 was published in July 2013 and includes the latest resources and new case studies showing road safety education in action through the curriculum. It includes reflective questions on how to extend student learning in line with notions about citizenship education.

Mahere huarahi – Ngā rauemi haumaru huarahi mā ngā hapori kura, tau 1–8 provides a complete translation of the Road Map, years 1-8 into te reo Māori.
The Road Map for secondary schools guides teachers to learning outcomes and resources specific to secondary students and novice drivers. It includes tables summarising research findings into effective road safety education, and show the implication for road safety of research findings about how young people learn.
The Road Map poster provides an overview of all the stages of development across early childhood, primary and secondary education.
The three documents continue the work of the Western Australia department School Drug Education and Road Aware (SDERA).
